Antrum is the large stomach, the hardest part to mess up.
In time, it should go away, but when is the other question. From what I can tell from online forums, from the people who do come back, it takes people months to get over it, sometimes years. Even then, some truly are never back to normal in a sense that some foods/drinks are still off-limits, they still suffer with pain on and off, and have to eat anything not bland in extreme moderation.
It sucks that you never really hear updates from people whether they got better or not.
I sincerely suggest you go back to your Doctor to see about
getting a new PPI on top of carafate. This is YOUR health and if he/she is not working with you, try to get a second opinion.
Herbals I would recommend is DGL, slippery elm, and a good probiotic.
I am only a few years older than you, 27, so I can relate how this feels like this has put my life on hold and have no idea where it came from. Probably extreme stress from work and my diet. Already under-weight so now I just look terrible. The good news is I feel like if you are younger, this is easier to beat.
