Gastrocopy Report for Medical Records

Hi everyone,

I had endoscopy today, it was only 3 mins procedure to examine my stomach inside and I got all normal. I was in the recovery room than, when I asked to see a doctor for the result but the nurse said they are busy with other patients, so the nurse told me that there is no sign of Hiatus hernia at all and its normal.

I got there a list of Report of Medical Records for the Endoscopy

What does it really mean, I still want to call doctor tomorrow, so he can tell me himself

I am also be refered for the 24hr Monitor and Manometry and hope for the Gastric emptying study.

However, if you have a small hernia often they are sliding and not found on an endoscopy, they are better found on a barium swallow.

Did they not take any biopsies?

I asked them, if they wish to take any biopsies and even they told me as well. But later on they did not took any biopsies at all.

where you sedated or awake and wretching? the reason I ask is that hernia's slide and sometimes it will all look normal. I had a huge hernia at my first endoscopy, then had no hernia at a barium swallow a few weeks later, then another endoscopy with no actual hernia but he said he could see it herniating each time I wretched.

Then its possible you have a small sliding hernia and it just wasn't there on the day, but at least you can rule out a dangerous paraesophagal hernia.

On the plus side any symptoms you are having aren't indicative of any actual damage to your stomach or esophagus so you can relax about that and focus on addressing the symptoms. I know with these kind of tests people are usually disappointed with 'normal' results - I am the same way, but even if they had found a hernia there's not much they can do for the symptoms beyond the usual acid suppressors. And remember a normal test doesn't mean you don't have GERD

Have you done Nissen Fundo for the surgery, I can see you have similar problem! what was your outcome!

No surgery for me, my heartburn just randomly stopped one day after being almost constant for 2 years. Unfortunately it was replaced by stomach trouble which Im still trying to figure out the root cause of :/

I got call from my Gastroenterologist today, I also asked him regarding of the result report as when I had Endoscopy on 29/09/2014, I asked him regarding of my esophagus lower sphincter if its loose or any damage, he told me my esophagus lower sphincter is perfectly normal. I don't get it how am I getting Acid reflux..
