seeking member "Baza" about his redo and undiagnosed motility problem

Hey guys just an update.

I contacted dr Attwood's secretary and descovered he doesnt see privatley, so i had to go to GP. I saw the doctor last week asking to be refered and told me because of finances, this probibly wont be possible, She said she would speak to the "boss" and check. she then rang me and told me they need a report from my surgeon first about how mu follow apointment went. she said once she gets that she can take it to the Board and they will decide wheather they are willing to refer me to a surgeon so far away. but she said she isnt confident that will happen, because we are in a rescession and the finance.

So it looks like I wont be able to see the surgeon I want because the NHS isnt willing to pay for me to see another surgeon.

She said i might be able to see another Surgeon of their choice. just some random other surgeon they choose. and i should be grateful of that.

i dont even know where i stand, surley i have rights.

she also said depending on what the report says from DR Li, will also be a big factor, if he seems confident in the letter that he did a good job, then i wont have grounds to a second opinion, but if in his report it menations that he didnt tie the wrap tight enough, and severed the nerves in my stomach causing gastroparisis, then i might be able to see another surgeon in manchester, but i realy dont see dr li's report saying that.

Yes, im fighting with the GP now for the referal to a second opinion, aparentley because of finances.

i was thinking of trying with Barry surgeon as i think he actualy sees patients privatley.
Things just seem to be getting worse, I had a thought last night funny enough, randomly, that things got allot worse after my barium meal. as the barium was not emptying during the test, im wondering wheather it never progressed through the stomach, and set hard inside, and is infact still there taking up most of the room inside or blocking the exit. also, i was told id have pale or white stools, which never actualy happend.

so thats where im up to at the moment, my gp is trying to get permission to send me to the surgeon in newcastle, but she isnt hopeful.

Hi Charlie,Mr Horgan was not my last choice. I was searching for a surgeon in the Uk who could take at look at my previous surgery as I felt really unwell and was getting nowhere at home.
I contacted the secretarys of four surgeons and three of them got back to me saying they didn't really want to get involved in another surgeons work.
Mr Horgans secretary was very interested in my problem and wanted to help anyway she could.She gave me the option of seeing Mr Horgan on NHS which could take a few months or privately which would be a week.I choose private because money did not matter to me at that moment as I was so ill.I put all my expenses on a 18 month credit free card.

I cant promise Mr Horgan will help you but you have nothing to lose by asking. Barry
