Hey guys, Just something Ive been wondering about
.
Had a nissen 6 months ago for Hiatal hernia and
opening in diaphragm.
I was a big fan of the gym before the surgery and did lots of Boxing and cage fighting.
The last few weeks ive been starting to workout a little. 50 pushups here, 50 pushups there, lifting a few weights at home etc.
Then it occured to me if this was actualy a clever thing to do, as I was never told if there was anything I should avoid perminetley. but states many times online no strenuous exercise for 6 weeks following the surgery, even not to push hard on the toilet.
I dont know if they were talking perminently, or just a few weeks.
surley 6 months is sufficient enough time to heal, im not sore anymore from the surgery and physicaly feel more or less the same (apart from weight loss and other issues from surgery)
I hear allot of peoples wraps that come undone, or break for some reason. even when not working out every day or athelets like myself. How strong are these things?
Yesterday whilst doing my usual power Pushup workout, I was coming to the last few sets before Failiure (meaning - Arms shaking / numb, cant do any more and colapse to the floor ) and it suddenley poped into my head that, maybe im not suposed to work out anymore, and fear i might have poped a few stitches already as ive been pushing myself like an animal.
what do people think?
Should I stop?
would I have caused damage?
im not in any pain,
I would imagine the most common exercise people engage in after surgery is sex, however that is a more repetative exercise, similar to picking up something from the floor over and over again. When my training is both intense and very heavy lifting. I thought there might be some people out there in the same boat as me. and was wondering that too.
would working out damage the wrap, as I imagine intense strength exercise like power lifting, pushups etc puts allot of stress on the abdomen, like the stomach pushing up against the diaphragm.
anyone exercising too with a wrap feel free to post, or descuss about
this topic.
have a great day guys
