I am new to Gerd and still have to go at the end of the month for an endoscopy. My doctor has told me to take Prilosec once a day. I am in day 4 and getting nauseous and feeling depressed. Has anyone had this with the prilosec and what are most taking. In addition I am on Levothyroxine for thyroid and have diverticulosis and had one diverticulitis attack.

My first stint on Nexium I feel made me a little depressed, so I stopped taking it, second time around no issues, hard to say with depression because it could've just been what I was going through at the time.

A popular alternate is Somac.

I stopped taking the Prilosec today. I am going back to my Zantac and Pepto until I have my endoscopy an get diagnosed. Now I am constipated.

Prilosec made me nauseous for the first couple weeks and then it gradually went away. If I take one daily I really have to eat horribly to give myself heartburn. I'm sorry the side effects were bad for you and I hope things go well with your endoscopy.
