Hi there!
I know exactly how you feel - although I am a little bit behind you! In the UK you have to go in for the pre-surgery assessment - as they do a check for MRSA - a nasty little bug that can cause all kinds of problems after surgery. I've just filled in the form they sent me. Makes it seem a bit more real. I have had an operation before though - and am not as worried as I might have been. I think that the benefits will far outweigh the initial pain and liquid diet! Have you got everything prepared? I'm just starting to think of what I can make/freeze for the first couple of weeks - I love cooking - so am going to make a few pots of consomme! My surgeon gave me a diet sheet a few weeks back - so I could get my head around the diet/ restrictions. Lucky I like mashed potato and custard (not at the same time!!!)
Be strong! Think positive and imagine all the wonderful things you will be able to eat and drink when you are all better!
Best of luck and please let me know how it goes
