Sorry it has taken me so long to be in contact. Life has been hell, and I'm very surprised I haven't 'harmed' myself yet. I cannot control my symptoms anymore, even with Gaviscon Advance. Once all the mucus in my throat clears and I belch, the shortness of breath and lump in throat return instantly. And since they were around when I had the positive peptest I know for sure it's LPR harming me even more.

But I've been denied LINX surgery. I have no hope left for a cure now. I know that sounds dramatic but I've been refused the other types of surgery too. I've been crying a lot as a result.

I just joined the forum tonight but I've been looking at the site for the last few months (going back years) and I've read some of your previous posts. I feel your pain and your struggle. I was diagnosed with LPR 7 months ago and right now I'm still dealing with the lump in the throat/excessive phlegm as well as some muscle weakness which I believe is from my lack of daily calories and nutrients due to my constant throat irritation. I lost 100 lbs in 6 months because I put myself on a liquid diet. Enough about me. How are you doing? Have you heard of the Reza Band? http://www.rezaband.com
I know there was a thread a few months ago talking about it. I spoke to Somnacare a few weeks ago and the are hopeful for FDA approval sometime next month. I don't know if this will be a cure but I am hopeful that it will help at least alleviate some if not all of our symptoms. I say that to say this "please don't harm yourself. Even though things are difficult now, life is too short already." Stay strong and now that we all support you.

I understand it being frustrating that the Drs denied your surgery, but I'm inclined to say that if a medical doctor doesn't think you have a condition they are saving you agony and frustration in the long run. Chin up bud, it'll get better.
