Hi guys.
I've been having an extremely sore throat on my right side when swallowing for a year now. My right tonsil is very swollen and when I press it it hurts really bad.
I've had hearthburn all my life and had a fundoplication a month ago. Before the fundo my DeeMester score was very high and I also had high levels of pepsin in my saliva which indicated LPR. My probblem is that the pain in my tonsil progressively have gotten worse after the surgery, and it's still very swollen.
Is it common that LPR irritation causes a painful swollen tonsil on one side or could this be something else? I believe that my voice is actually getting better, but my tonsils worse which would indicate that there's another problem besides the LPR that's causing my problems. In that case maybe it will help to take the tonsils out.
