Questin about ppi

I 'am having burning in my stomach last feb til now been prescribe with ppi for 1 month but i stop after 2 weeks of use because i'm having stomach cramps. Is it possible to have a rebound effect with only two weeks on ppi?? Because now i still have heartburn and now its coming up in my throat. To much mucus in my throat and lump like feeling in my throat. Been having lpr symptoms for the past 1 1/2 yr.. Need help plss.....

Thanks for your message linda. Planning to go to my gastro doc next month because i'm going on vacation next week. Hope he do an upper gi to find out was is wrong. I'm only 28 and i hope there's nothig serious. I can't sleep at night because i think to much. I had an upper gi and barrium x ray last year but all came back normal. My symptoms last year were only all in my throat. But now i'm having burning stomach and pressure mucus in my throat. I'm really worried..

Migz27, you might have a hernia.

I'm not for or against PPIs but do take them. I took them for 4 months several years ago and they healed my gastric ulcers.

I'm a very anxious person - doesn't show on the outside but rips my insides! I know that because I have ulcers again.

Don't be discouraged if one doesn't work for you. I had to try several before I had relief. I find pantoprazole is the one which works fairly well for me. I do take Zegerid for a short time and switch back to pantoprazole.

Follow a bland diet. Check out the foods/drinks you ingest and eliminate the ones which makes your condition worse.

Think positive and try to keep your anxiety to a minimum.
