I Had Nissen's Fundoplication Surgery 4 days back for the GERD/Hietus Hernia that I had. Post the surgery all was well except I have developed a Cronic Cough for the past 2 days & it hurts the stomach area when I cough.

My question here is Is there a risk of Fundoplication Wrap getting unwrapped when I cough???

I am post op 7 weeks. Coughing is Normal and doesn't involve the same muscles that would undo it. They don't want you wrenching that can undo it. I know it hurts but you have to work through it. It gets easier day by day.

My doc told me I could lift weights the day after my surgery if I wanted to (even though i would never)- but basically almost nothing would undo his wrap. I wouldn't worry about that too much.
