Surgery in 1 week

Welcome to the GERD/Heartburn forum! Like you, I found this forum shortly before my Nissen surgery. It was a great resource, and the fine members here really helped me through my recovery.

I can't help you with the CAVA filter. I had a blood clot in my leg post foot surgery (when I was kept off that foot for six weeks), there was no mention of installing a CAVA filter. It's the first I've heard this question, but there may be others here with more helpful information on the topic.

Here's a link to my early recovery journal. Hopefully you'll find it helpful. Keep in mind that I had the surgery because of reflux induced asthma/unhealthy lungs. You can disregard the things I've written that are specific to that issue.

I'm glad to hear that you'll be writing a journal about your experience. That's how we all learn, and there is no doubt that you will help some future member looking for answers.

Please be sure to ask any questions that you have as you get closer to your surgery, and of course, during your recovery!
