Hope I can last through the next 28 days with this terrible nausea and reflux. I am having a fundoplication on September 28th. I am really happy with my doctor and the hospital he works out of. Will let you know how things go if anyone is interested in following my recovery.

Glad to hear that, carolannie!

I know it's hard to wait for the the big day. Be sure to read lots of surgery threads, and ask questions. You can get yourself well prepared for what to expect and how to be ready for your recovery.

Read your journal today and I would like to thank you very much for giving me so much good info about my future journey. It is so wonderful to have a good idea of what I will be experiencing and not to be worried about what is normal or not. It helps me feel a lot more relaxed about the whole procedure.

Hi Carolannie,

I'm glad you found it helpful. Like you, I came to the forum seeking answers and positive support prior to my surgery six and a half years ago. I stuck around to "pay forward" the help I was given.

This is a great place to find answers from others who've "been there, done that"! Be sure to ask any questions that you might have. There is no such thing as a"stupid question", so ask away!

I'm sure others will be by to offer their support and ideas, too!

Hello there,

I am supposed to meet with my surgeon for the first time to discuss nissen fundoplication as an option for me(suffering with GERD and LPR for a lobg time now). His name is Stephen Cassivi and works at Mayo clinic in Rochester, MN. Anyone heard about this surgeon PLEASE share some info. I would greatly appriciated.
