Nissen Fundoplication Redo???

Hi there, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I'm certain it's reflux. I'll give it more time but it only happens a bit after eating and I've had to start PPIs again which have helped. I really hope you're right though. My life has been in shambles the past year because I've been suffering from this so badly. My father died from esophageal cancer because he couldn't get his fixed either. Prayers are welcomed. :)

it's so awful :( my father died from this at age 52 because he couldn't solve it. i've had it for 9 years now and i'm only 28. no one can seem to solve it and i cant believe my LNF didn't work!!

Hi all. I am from Chicago. I am only about 9 days post op for Hiatal Hernia repair and Toupet Fundoplication. I am moderately worried because I have been burping more and have an increase in reflux events (although not as much volume). I am kind of wondering already if it is just part of recovery or I am already destined for a redo because it is too loose. I spent a lot of time debating between Niseen and Toupet and my Surgeon was adamant that Toupet is just as effective stopping reflux. Now I have minor regrets that my instincts were right to lean towards Nissen. I would not have minded a longer recovery for more durable and effective wrap. Also many have mentioned research Surgeons. I have researched and researched, have lists from Sages etc. But there really isn't much information out there on the experience level of Surgeons. Do people visit like 20 surgeons and get testimonials for each? It is impossible to get appointments. How exactly do you tell if a Surgeon is good or not? I feel like it would be helpful if there was a patient created database of Surgeons with testimonials.
