lympg node swelling from prilosec or other PPIs???

I'm not sure about Prilosec because I never took it however I do know that not all medications are alike even though they take care of the same symptoms. I was on Nexium for a while and could not tolerate the nausea. I thought that if I took it a while it would go away however it did not. My doctor then prescribed me Prevacid and I have not had any complications with it. Since they are both PPIs, it goes to show that the formula of the drug is what makes you have the effects, not the purpose.

Have you asked your doctor to maybe try another one?

Hi Tyboyz. I also had lymph node swelling from Prilosec. As dbab said, perhaps you should try another one. I am on Nexium and not having that side effect.

Anyone else at all with lymph node swelling caused by their PPI or their reflux???

Thanks Lady!!!  I stopped the prilosec 15 days agao and thought the nodes would go down but they haven't and of course that is scaring me!!!  They are in my chin and neck.  I had reflux and inflammation that went untreated for a few years and did not have the swollen nodes so I don't think it is my reflux that is causing them.  Maybe I will try another ppi and see what happens.  I know I am being a real pest but I was wondering if your swollen nodes caused you any problems - like soreness or pain??  Was your doctor concerned about them??  Did they go away completely with the nexium??  Again I am sorry for so many questions I just wish I could figure out exactly why I have them to relieve some of this anxiety which doesn't help anything!!!  Thanks for your help!!  

Was the swollen throat actually caused by swollen glands or lymph nodes??

Thanks Lady for helping me again!!!  It seems that my heartburn and throat pain stopped with the Prilosec but I still have neck pain and swollen nodes in my neck and chin.  My family doctor is saying to give them more time to go down but I have never had glands swollen without being sick before so it is making me very nervous.  I think I have even noticed that the ones in my chin swell while I sleep and decrease while I am awake - it just keeps getting stranger!!!

 

I have swollen neck glands on an irregular frequent basis but have had for much longer than I have been on the Nexium. My docs don't seem to worked up about them, all my blood tests come back within the normal range meaning no infection.

I wanted to let others know that I also have had groin pain with Prilosec-Severe!!! Yes it works great for the acid but there are other concerns also. Lymph nodes under my arms are sore- Thought it was because I had gained weight and bra was tight, but when I stop the Prilosec it gets better. It also seems to leach out my magnesium and calcium even though I take supplements. Which is probably what causes leg pain at night.

I took Prilosec for a couple of years using the 2 weeks on method and then going off for a week or two- Then I enjoyed the fact that it worked so good that I started to take it all the time- Hence all the problems began. I can believe that this causes lymph nodes in neck as I hadn't realized until just now that when I put lotion on my neck in the morning it is slightly sore-

WELL THAT DOES IT FOR ME!!! I started Aloe Vera this morning and will use some baking soda (Bobs Red Mill, that doesn't have aluminium in it) and lemon in my water to cut down on the acidity in my body- Oh course cutting out sweets would really go a long way LOL! Good luck everyone-All the PPI's on the market seem like an easy answer and finding other ways are hard. But it gets back to the basic- sometimes the cure is worse than the problem-
