Does anyone else here with GERD/other stomach problems, have it feel like their heart is.. idk, beating weird?

When I check my pulse, it's fine. Not skipping or anything, well, not in a while for the skipping atleast.

It makes my entire chest feel funny, bubbly sort off and just off..

I also have anxiety, so that doesn't help anything!

I have an endoscopy scheduled for November 13th. I'm not on anything right now, per my gastroenteroligist.

Before my Fundoplication, I felt the same way sometimes when my GERD got really bad. My chest definitely felt off. My gastro said it was normal. I have anxiety too, it sure doesn't help! Best of luck.

Thank you! I'm happy I'm not the only one, but sorry you had to go through it also! What is a Fundoplication?

Its a surgery a lot of people get to correct GERD and hiatal hernias. The full name is the Nissen Fundoplication.

There's a lot of information on here about it. It was 2 weeks ago so I'm still in the recovery phase. It is a very painful recovery with a limited diet. But I no longer have reflux and my hiatal hernia was repaired.

Before I had my hiatal hernia repair (I didn't get fundoplication) I felt this often. I think it was gas getting trapped in the portion of my stomach that was up in my chest. I do also get heart palpitations which are normal and nothing to worry about. My heart palpitations are usually due to dehydration. I'd try some gas X and drink lots of water. Of course I say this knowing that I've had my heart checked on many times. If you suspect you are having a problem don't hesitate to get into your doctor, immediate care or ER if you think it's bad enough.

Another member on here has mentioned in the past that reflux events can make your heartrate speed up. I know that doctors have picked up on tachychardia with me since my reflux has gotten worse, but they don't seem concerned about it. It is worth getting checked out though, any heart issues shouldn't be taken lightly.

Yes I get this all the time, in fact my very first symtpom of reflux was my heart, I had no heartburn or anything. Caused me a lot of anxiety, especially when it skips beats, or feels like its beatin strange when I'm trying to sleep.

I eventually got over he anxiety of it though once I knew what it was and it did seem to settle down a lot.
