Had a 180degree fundoplication yesterday after 5 years of Gerd. Symptoms had easier over last few months so wasn't 100% sure I needed it but looking back at test results of 40% reflux at night and 2mm pressure at LES decided to go for it. Afterwards surgeon said that I had also developed a hernia and valve very loose so definitely required.
After op, woke up with very painful shoulders This eased over 12 hours by regularly moving them in circles etc while awake. Drinking fluids ok although burbing quite a bit which is good but also uncomfortable.
Pain wise 24hrs later is virtually nil and have only taken 2 paracetamol. Pretty tired mind u
Was also nice to wake without a throat full of muck this morning
So far pretty good
