good question, myself 53 year old male. was very active in martial arts, cardio, lifting. three months out of surgery. i currently ride, my recumbent bike, have added the elliptical trainer, and will slowly add my bow flex, and total gym. flexibility exercises, no problem. my surgeon explained to me, to do things in moderation, and listen carefully to your body, and don't over exert. i am 5 ft 11 and weigh 176. before this started. i was 216. currently i plan to keep weight, at about 185. you need to redefine your goals, and get as much info [ground rules from surgeon] we had major surgery, but that does not mean, cancel the rest of your life, just be smarter. let me know what you find out. good luck
