My NF operation

I'm one month post my wrap operation tomorrow and just wanted to let people know that, for me, it's been a tremendous success. I'm already eating bread and meats and was pretty much on normal solid food after only 3 weeks.
I've not had any heartburn since the day of my op so I'm overjoyed and wish I'd had it done years ago.
I stuck to liquids for the first week as it was sore to swallow and then progressed to soft food and then back to normal in week 3 - I was lucky not to experience any of the 2 week swelling which others seem to have had.
The only pain I really had was the trapped gas in my shoulders but that has all gone now.
I'd really urge anyone thinking of having the op to put your worries aside and have it done. My surgeon did an amazing job and I'm eternally grateful!

Not too sure what that is - because I was just on liquids at first, I was constipated but a dose of Senokot sorted me out and now one month on I'm as regular as I was before - I hope this helps?

I think dumping syndrome is quite common after NF, but it's not something that I really suffered from. One of the things that I learned was not to drink a lot of liquids during meals. I had my gallbladder removed and did not have dumping syndrome, so I guess everyone is different.

Mine wasn't so bad after my gallbladder, just with uncultured dairy products. Through a lot of trial and error I have found that this time that I just need to be hypervigilent about not drinking within an hour of eating and eating insanely tiny amounts of food. I was too busy concentrating on making sure I wasn't eating more than my wrap could handle, and not getting anything stuck.

The surgeons nurse did say that it happens with fundos, just not as common as gallbladder surgery, and its very uncommon to have it straight after surgery.

Who got the Bravo test? My GI says is not necessary to do the test, my my second opinion surger says is necessary.
I would like to hear from anyone who did the test and what the test really shows.

I'm in the UK - had my op done at QA Hospital, Portsmouth, by Ben Knight who is the very best in this field. I'm not sure what kind of wrap I had, sorry and I've never heard of a Bravo test either. Mine was done as I had quite a lot of Barrett's which was exacerbated by the heartburn. I'm now eating normal foods and have not had a day or night of heartburn since my op. Don't be scared - I'm the biggest coward going, I even panic and squeal over a blood test! But seriously I wish I'd had it done years ago - please get it done if you need it, your life will be greatly improved.
