2 years after Nissen surgery

My last EGD prior to my Nissen 2 years ago showed by Barrett's had regressed. My followup EGD shows the wrap intact, tight, no slippage or herniation but the Barrett's has gotten worse and I have esophagitis and gastritis. I am at a loss for words. This seems like a nightmare after all the precautions taken with the surgery.

Sorry to hear that.

Do you have any symptoms like heartburn or dysphagia or any signs of failure of the surgery?

Sometimes the results from EGD and histology can false positive or negative. It si posssible that you had false negative results before surgery or now you may have false positive results.

I would ask for another EGD and histology (biopsy)

Thank you for checking in. The area within the Barrett's had a nodule and was very irritated. The GI did an EMR endoscopic mucosal resection. He verified the wrap was intact and showed me photos. I have been experiencing dysphagia (only in the evening) for the past year with gastritis.

I gained 10 pounds, ate chocolate, and drank a cup of coffee. I am assuming those items were the culprits. Also, experienced bile reflux. I stayed on my PPI's and carafate throughout the 2 years and prior to the surgery.

I am thankful for this forum. I got off my butt and decided to stop delaying this EGD and not assume a false sense of security. Thank you Healing Well!
