Thank you Mrgummy for your reply.
It is quite helpful indeed. The extreme fatigue has also affected my work life to a great extent. I will definitely find out more on the dumping syndrome but I thought that would cause diarrhoea as opposed to the constipation that I have. I will also try & watch my diet & try to have regular bowel movements if that would help.
Also I get bloated after a small meal & can't burp or vomit either :( I am just wondering if having a reversal of the wrap (if possible) would help relieve my current symptoms as it's very difficult to live with this. I want to get another surgeon to get some answers as the previous one is not very helpful.
I wish I was only told about all these complications beforehand & I would never have opted to do this surgery :( hope we feel better soon. Take care.
Sam
I read before someone suggests using magnesium supplement to aid in resolving bloating issue. What I think is if our GI tract is full of gas and a bloated stomach continued to pressure our diaphgram, I wonder if we can ever breath well. People said certain food can cause bloating as well. Maybe monitor what you eat?
I do not know if the doctor would undo the wrap for you. I thought doctors can stretch or do something loose up the wrap a little. You can ask the doctor about
that. I think it is unlikely the doctor will undo the wrap for you. How well did you manage your reflux before having Nissen?
Lastly, some nurses told me that we having hiatal hernia surgery should practice proper deep breathing, as people with hiatal hernia tend to have shallow breathing. Deep breathing like 15-30 mins seems to be helping too.
