Third anniversary of my HH repair and 360 floppy

Over the past three years I have posted my success story on many threads in this Site. I have received much info and encouragement from the site ranging from pre-surgery, recovery and then moving on with my life. As I have said, I was 73 when I elected to have the surgery and I could have lived out my life without it. I chose not to. I do know that there is no magic diet, elixir or psycological cure for a serious Hiatal Hernia -- it takes surgery. You can mask the symptoms but that is not a cure. Although I am a big baby when it comes to pain, from the day after surgery I needed no pain medication or anything else for discomfort, nor did I have spasms that you mentioned. Immediately after surgery the nurses encouraged me to use the on-demand morphine dispenser to stay ahead of the pain and I did it several times I don't know if I really needed it. They gave me several bottles of liquid Loritab when I left the hospital, I only used it once and that was for trying to sleep not for pain. Either I had a very clever surgeon or the grace of God helped me but I had no bad experiences due to the surgery at all. I also did not shed one drop of blood after surgery....the incisions were glued together and I just kept them covered during ahowers until the excess glue peeled off.
