Hello, I had a repair done for hiatus hernia in the esophagus whereby they did a wrap. Surgery was mid February. I am just over the 3 month recovery but last few weeks I have been feeling unwell. I was feeling really good but as mentioned above it feels like it is back with vengeance. Each morning I wake up can feel the reflux and then before lunch and when I go home at night from work. I am back taking Mylanta or quickest again to help. I get extremely tired. Each morning I take omeprazole 20mb. Laying down helps but I feel like things are going back to how I was feeling before surgery. Diet is good. Can anyone advise. I am seeing my surgeon next week.

I didn't start feeling better until around the 6-month mark, and had absolutely no energy. I didn't feel like my old self until about a year post-surgery. I did not need medication after surgery, but a lot of people do. My advice is when you have your appointment next week, take your notes with you so you can have all of your questions addressed.

Don´t wory. I hope that you will be fine.
If you want to know if everything is all right you will probably nead endoscopy, barium X-ray and may be pH metry.

Let us know how it goes with your surgeon, Phillipc. I'm 9 weeks post-op and still have some difficult days. I have to keep reminding myself, as folks say here, that we're still healing at this point. Frustrating, to be sure, but I think the hard days are a part of it.

Hopefully your doctor can provide you with some reassurance or some answers. Keep us posted!
