Question for Chester

Since Chester hasn't replied yet, perhaps I can help. I think Chester is talking about Barrett's esophagus. It's a condition where the cells in the esophagus start to change. I believe they start to take on the appearance of the cells in the stomach lining. Apparently this increases the chances of developing esophagael cancer (the "BIG C"). I don't have it so I won't pretend to be an expert. I can say that it's a good reason to get an endoscopic exam even if you have silent acid relux without symptoms.

I don't believe there is any way to reverse the process but I'm not sure. There is an article about Barrett's in the Heartburn Resources area.
