Hi,
I'm a 29 year old male suffering with reflux for a little under a year. I've visited a gastroenterologist who had me do an endoscopy to confirm a weakened LES. I've talked to a surgeon about surgical options too. My manometry showed my esophagus was too weak to tolerate a LINX, so he recommended a Nissen Fundoplication. Reading studies about NF online is a bit terrifying and for the last year I've stuck to PPIs for controlling my symptoms. I've also modified my diet to eliminate caffeine, fatty food, raise the head of my bed 6 inches, etc.
My question to you is - who do you think is the best GERD expert in the US or world? Who's worth visiting for a 2nd opinion on treatment options?
Thanks,
T.F.
