New to this, have esophagitis. Could chest pain and dizziness be associated? Please.

I'm a 27 year old female, I have read up a lot on gerd and esophagitis, I haven't found much on if it can cause chest pain and symptom's of a heart problem? I have dizziness, and have almost fainted. The doctors seem to think my heart is fine, I have had many ekgs, all normal had a ct chest scan, was normal. it sometimes gets worse when I walk around ( especially in the heat). I had a heart monitor put on me last week, don't know that results yet, but I'm sure they'll tell me its normal. Any experience's or ideas of what might cause this? sad

Questions to fill out...

Do you have heartburn? Its like chest pain with some burning...can cause lightheadedness and anxiety...

Are you on any antacids?

Also gallbladder problems can cause the problems you listed...HIDA scan can find if its a gallbladder issue.

GERD gets worse when you lay flat, do you get more dizzy laying down? It can also cause a spike in blood pressure...

There is my opinion on the issue...I been through a lot myself

I'm taking omeprazole right now, and don't feel the burn of heartburn anymore. I have done so many blood tests, I'm not sure if they have checked my gall bladder. And it's when I'm walking around and laying down. The cgest pain sometimes lasts all day. :(

Bloodwork will not show gallbladder issues, as George said, you would need a HIDA scan. Do you suffer from anxiety, at all?

Bilruban...spelling is off, but bloodwork would show elevated levels. Its secreted through the bile ducts and if its high can show a blockage. Blood work then HIDA can is what is usually done, usually a blocked bile duct or failing gallbladder gives you bad chest pain in the right side of your chest which can cause other problems as well...

The chest pain I'm having is on my left side.. since this all stared happening I'm had some anxiety for sure. Just because I never know if I'm gonna have a good or bad day..

Same as you. I've had 4 EKGs and wore a heart monitor for 24 hours. Since I'm not a fan of prescription pills, I've been doing my own research. I bought a drink called "Stop Reflux Now" that contains ginger juice, garlic juice and apple cider vinegar. It's been very helpful. I've also been drinking this ginger tea that contains peppermint and Licorice in it that are also known to help with digestive issues. Lastly, I ordered a bottle of Doctor's Best Betadine HCL Pepsin with Gentian Bitters. I read somewhere this lady swears her GERD has cleared up because of this supplement. Here is a description:

Betaine HCl/Pepsin/Gentian Bitters contains three nutritional factors that perform complementary functions designed to support the efficiency of the digestive process. Supplementing with Betaine HCl may support the stomach's digestive capacity. Pepsin is an enzyme produced by the body to digest protein-containing foods in the stomach. Yes please keep me posted. I have tried the dgl licorice and it flared up my esophagitis pretty bad. It's extremely sensitive... I have a lot of other stuff going on beside my esophagitis. The dizziness and feeling faint have been aweful. The doctors can't seem to tell me why I'm dizzy everyday.
