Hi everyone, long time GERD sufferer here. Im 41 and recently had the Stretta procedure on July 27th. Initially the first few weeks seemed to show improvement but the last month or so it seems as if my reflux is worse than ever!? I'm to see my GI on Friday and hopefully get some answers but I'm not feeling optimistic. My throat is very aggravated there's pain there and around the LES area and I've even had recent bouts of constipation. In most areas of my digestive tract I experience weird sensations and nerve pain I find hard to explain to my doctor. For some reason my stomach can't seem to tolerate almost any exercise of any significant duration or intensity. I'm at a loss with all of this and it has even begun to affect my breathing at times. I'm curious if any of this resonates with others in this community and I look forward to your responses...

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulty. From what I have read about the Stretta, it is way too soon to see any improvement and that it gets a little worse before it gets better. Average time for improvement is 2- 6 months and maybe up to a year is what I've read from studies and articles from Dr. Mark Noar, who is the leading Stretta doctor in the country.
I am also considering the Stretta. There is a facebook page for "Stretta Procedure for GERD and LPR" where you may find a lot of your questions answered.
The Stretta has shown promising results for 80% of patients if you read the studies. Hope it works for you. Please keep us posted on your progress because if it works, it would benefit a lot of people here. By the way, did insurance pay for your procedure? Thanks, HillyGirl

I had stretta in 2015, 30% improvement, insurance paid for the ancillary costs but not stretta, it was around $1000
