Hello!
I am a 48 year old female.
I was diagnosed with reflux and a small hiatal hernia this past spring. The pain had been really bad, I was practical sleeping sitting up, when I could sleep. (I couldn't imagine a large HH, with the pain of this small one).
I am on generic Prevacid twice a day 30 mg. Gotten a little better with medication and at times using tums, probiotics & digestive enzymes & dgl & baking soda...had to totally change my diet which included very spicy foods, and 2-3 cups of iced tea daily.
I have excluded all the trigger foods, and eating lots of natural foods. Every month or so my craving for caffeinated iced tea (which I was addicted to) comes back and I cave into it & have approximately 8 oz., which I know is a huge mistake because I suffer greatly for 3 days. I understand I could try decaf, but realize tea itself is also acid producing, and what I'm really going for is a pick me up from the caffeine in the tea. (I do not like coffee)
Just wondering if anyone has this issue also, from such a small amount of caffeine?
It just seems odd to me that being diagnosed with reflux & a small hh that I would have such a severe set back when I drink it. it sounds crazy I know that I keep going back , but I start feeling a good bit better & anyone knows who has been addicted to it that there is such a craving especially when you are lethargic.
I'm never going to drink it again...with doing it approximately 4 times the pain isn't worth the pick me up.
Thank you !
