Hi everyone, I'm 27 y/o, 5'8 160lbs male and was diagnosed with GERD several months ago, after having a barium swallow done. Endoscope revealed excess acid and was put on Pantoprozole initially and then Dexilant. The PPIs didn't really help me much and I still continued to have acid reflux issues. I'll try to list all of my symptoms here:
I started getting loose, feather stools a several months ago. I noticed I couldn't digest green vegetables and would see them in bits when I have bowel movements. Every time I drink liquids (mostly water), I burp up liquids/foams. I also have to burp oftentimes after eating, sometimes by turning my body to the left. I also notice a cold, minty feeling in my throat. I don't feel much pain in the abdominal area but I did have some pain under my left rib cage that went away. I guess my main concern is burping liquids when I drink water or other drinks. I had a blood test back in March 2015 and everything was normal except my cholestrol level. I recently had another blood test done and it showed that my liver enzymes were a little high: AST-63 and ALT-86. I don't smoke or drink, but I do eat junk food as I live by myself. I tend to worry a lot and the GIs I've been to haven't been much of a help. I read stuff on pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, etc. and it's not helping.
Are these still symptoms of GERD/acid reflux? What other tests can I do to help my situation? I started eating more healthy, started exercising. Any help is greatly appreciated.
