I am almost 4 months post OP, I am experiencing dizziness all day, brain fog, extremely fatigued after running, and tinnitus. I am fearful that I have a form of POTS after my nissen. I see a cardiologist this month who specializes in POTS, will most likely get a tilt table study. Does anyone have any of these symptoms post op. Its a scary feeling.

I am 4 1/2 months postop. I have tinnitus from one of the meds I'm taking (amitriptyline). I get occasional dizziness from the same med when I stand up. I have no stamina because I've had a rough recovery so far.
I guess the Takeaway is that some meds can cause similar symptoms.

If you suspect POTS, does that mean this happens every time you stand up?

even when im sitting I feel dizzy with brain fog, its hard to explain, I don't have typlical pots symptoms, 120+ heart rate when standing, but the brain fog and dizziness is frustrating to say the least, also have fatigue issues even after walking, im praying this is part of the healing process for me, when i stand it does seem worse but not so debilitating that I want to pass out

it took me almost, 6 months post op to shake the dizziness. this op, is very hard on the body, and the mind. recovery is no bed of roses, either. i went thru a stress tests, a ct scan, 2 more barium swallows, in the year after the op. anxiety caused by this recovery, is normal. the underlying issue, causing me major stress, was caused by esophagus spasms. the so called, new normal we seek, is difficult to find, and i dont think any of us get back to 100 %. but we do the best we can, and move on.

hey aero1 did you also feel foggy and dizzy also coupled with tachycardia issues, feels like this everyday even when sitting, its a scary feeling

smlafluer. to be honest with you. i felt like sh#t, for quit some time, and had to have my doctor, prescribe klonopins, to ease the anxiety.[ which caused an elevated heart rate] as i said earlier, i went thru a lot to go forward. this is such a personal, journy. good luck.
