Hello guys, I'm new. I have a problem and i hope i can have some answer for me here. Okay here is my problem. about 5 days ago i had a feeling that my chest is heavy. It's like a rock on my chest and i go to my GI and he said that maybe i have a gerd, he gave some medicine and my heavy chest really lighter but from here i felt like my breath is shortness and it make me to do some activities to easy that shortness breath like running, walking ,... whenever i want to check my shortness breath is gone or not that point my shortness breath comeback. When i dont notice at it i dont feel anything. So what is the cause for my problem? Sorry for my bad english guys. Hope you guys understand.

From a person dealing with gerd/reflux for 13 years now, i pretty much have seen alot from issues with gerd/reflux. Shortness of breathe is very big, something as simple as standing up can cause reflux to flow up,but instead of coming up into your mouth or throat the reflux goes into your lungs and causes a (asthma type feeling).liquid antacid works best for this issue

Thanks for your reply. One more quétion if you dont mind. My family said that i have a bad breath and it smell like the smell of the mouth just get up in the morning. Can gerd is the cause of that ?

Yes,after reflux in your mouth all night,you get dragon breath in the morning. Ive had breath that smells like burnt rubber in the morning....Mouth wash and antacid helps..

Hi, I am new to this so hope I can do it right. I have COPD and also had a large Hiatal Hernia that I got operated on Tuesday but ever since the surgery I have had an awful time breathing I can't even go to kitchen and get a drink, does any body know why this is and will it get any better.

i was told i had c.o.p.d for 10 years and the medication made my symptoms worse,found out i never had c.o.p.d,i found out it was gerd/acid reflux flowing into my lungs. when the next time the breathing issue happens,take liquid antacid and wait about 2 to 3 minutes,all of a sudden you will get this big breath into your lungs and breathing back to normal.what happens is reflux comes up from your stomach and at times flows into your lungs,well the lungs say what the hell and try to close off to stop the reflux(feeling of not being able to breath Happens).

Thank you but it has been proven that I have COPD, but what I don't understand is why I can't catch my breath after I had that Hernia surgery could it have anything to do with my diaphragm. If I had known this I would of kept the hernia.
