When is it safe after niesen surgery to go fishing and lifting things I am almost 5 weeks post op and still not back to work

You should follow your surgeon's advice about
lifting and other activities. Everyone's post-surgery restrictions are different.

I'm 8 weeks post-op and this is when my surgeon said I could start lifting/exercising again. However, I'm not planning on it. I can help with groceries now and that's about
all I'm comfortable with doing. And I wouldn't want to do it all day. I just don't have the energy yet. I was in excellent shape before surgery and didn't have any other health concerns besides the haital hernia and reflux.

7 weeks post op starting to feel much better. went back to work after 6 weeks being off. eating pretty much everything now just have to take small bites. still get pain wants in awhile in my stomach and on both sides when I move the wrong way or eat to much. is that normal.

The things you describe seem normal. Take it easy. Each week things will get better.
