I appreciate the advice, and I think a second opinion is a good idea. I scheduled one with another surgeon (both are at Northwestern, which seems to be in the top tier as far as GI goes) today, and I'm going to attempt to schedule the surgery this week also, and cancel it if the second opinion changes my mind. My symptoms are really acute tho, I'm in pain ranging from mild to "about
to goto the ER and ask for morphine" about
half the day at the moment. I'm a little bit tempted to try to schedule an appointment at Cleveland Clinic or Mayo, but I'm not sure if I'd realize any benefit vs NW.
