3 days after surgery

Hi all, I had a 270 degree wrap performed on 05/04/17. The first few days were agonizing, but 3 days in, I actually feel quite well. I can't make sudden movements or jump around, but I can walk around freely and am not in a lot of pain. I do still feel the sensation of having reflux after waking up from a long sleep, but am wondering if this is generalized esophagus pain disguising itself as heartburn, or perhaps it is something that will go away?

Either way, is it normal to feel okay 3 days after surgery? Is there some point after this that the inflammation will get worse and it just hasn't happened yet? Wondering if anyone else had a similar experience. I am 28 years old.

I'm also a bit paranoid that maybe my wrap came undone. Is there any way to know if this has happened? (since I am not having a ton of pain and I am having slight heartburn symptoms).

I as well, did not have a lot of pain. that being said. this is major surgery, follow your diet, stay hydrated, do not over exert. do not try to eat to much, unless you really like severe pain. but just as important, don't let your mind run away. if need be, ask your doc for something to relax you, if you don't already have, make sure you have, some anti nausea med on hand, just in case. good luck

So yesterday marked the 4 week mark since getting the fundoplication surgery.

Oddly, I feel no different than I did prior to the surgery. I have no pain, no difficulty swallowing or belching, no nausea, etc. and my acid reflux problems are just as bad as they were before the surgery. Again, I literally feel no different in all aspects. I am going to see the surgery next week and will obviously let him know all of this, just wanted to share my experience for some others that might be interested. I've heard of people having prolonged pain, difficulty swallowing, re-occurrence of symptoms, but never heard anyone say they felt like they didn't have the surgery after 4 weeks post-op.

I am 11 days post surgery and have been very surprised at how good I feel compared to what I was expecting to feel. Don't get me wrong, I am not back to work or out kicking up my heals but overall its been fairly easy. about day 9 I could feel things were tightening up a bit but I can still swallow. I did stay completely liquid/pureed until today when I tried some creamy chicken soup with wild rice and veggies. I chewed everything well and it went down fine. That was 4 hours ago and I am for the first time feeling a tinge of either heartburn or maybe its just general diaphragm pain. I'll see if it happens again tomorrow.

One of my biggest complaints is getting Burp-ups, I have the urge to burp, can't, and then I get a hiccup or diaphragm contraction. OUCH. Also have an extremely sensitive spot at least several inches away from any incision that feels like an irritated nerve ending on fire.

After some small outings the past few days and feeling fairly well from the surgery I will admit that I have to agree... this is major surgery and even though I feel better each day I will continue to take it easy, rest, stay hydrated and follow the diet plan.
