Hi,
I had a giant paraesophageal hernia repair six months ago, no fundoplication was done, my esophagus was long enough to go into my abdomen.
First two months recovery was ok, I followed the Nissen diet like people having the wrap surgery for GERD. I never had GERD, just my stomach had flipped in my chest (stomach was completely in my chest for several years before flipping upside down). My main problem now (happens all day long) is that I get very nauseated one hour after eating anything, especially in the AM. I take 8mg of Zoran which doesn't work that great. It stills takes 2-3 hours to get over the nausea. I even tried only taking liquid at breakfast after downing two Gas-X 15 minutes before, as per my surgeon, and a lactaid tablet even though I am not lactose intolerant, also as per my surgeon. I drank 4oz of Ensure and one hour later the nausea started.
Anyone suffer similarly.
Many thanks.
