Very close to weaning off of PPIs been reducing the dose slowly week by week, in two weeks I will stop completely but worried about
how long I can last since I have a hiatal hernia and the dreaded rebound effect, anyone have any tips to cope.

Unless your hernia is considered large 5 cm., or more, it's unlikely that the hernia is the cause of all of your symptoms. Were you also diagnosed with GERD, or just a hernia?

I was diagnosed with both, didn't know there was a difference.

Also the acid gets worse everytime I take PPI along with some symptoms that mimic IBS, which is why i'm stopping though I get anxious and jittery everytime acid gets near my chest, which is extremely frustrating since I'm going on a 3 hour plane ride to visit family.

They are definitely two different things. Just be careful when you stop your PPIs, it's something that you need to wean off of and not just stop taking them because it will result in what's called acid rebound. Contact your doctor and he can tell you the best way for you to accomplish that.

Why do you want to stop, they reduce the risk and prevent stomach cancer.

I want to stop taking them because I get nausea, stomach pains as well as worse acid reflux, I believe weaning them off is the best option for me since the last time I suddenly stopped taking It didn't go so well at all.
