Keep a food diary and try and identify your trigger foods. Your trigger foods could be totally different than what's commonly listed not to consume. The small hernia shouldn't make a difference, they are usually only a problem when they become larger. You might talk to your doctor about trying a different PPI, if yours is not giving you enough relief of your system has gotten used to it and it's not as effective. If you need to, lose weight and become more active. Also, you may try raising the head of your bed six inches.
