trouble swallowing and eating 6 months after nisen surgery

I just want to see if anyone else has had these problems. I was good for a few months after surgery, then I started getting chest pain and my surgeon put me back on zantac. It helped the chest pain but I am having trouble swallowing and food getting stuck. I am scheduled for another dilation on the 28th hopefully it helps. I had a dilation on August 3 and they said that everything was fine with the wrap. Is it possible the wrap could have slipped. I do have a motility disorder so they did a short and floppy wrap. I am scared to eat again and I cant afford to lose anymore weight. Keep getting the feeling that my throat is tight and get on and off stomach pain. I thought things would get easier as time goes on but for me it is getting worse. Has anyone else experience any of these symptoms.

I am worried that I am getting reflux back I have dropped 30 pounds since my surgery march 16 of this year and over 75 pounds since November of last year when all these problems developed. My surgeon keeps telling me to take gas pills which I am taking like 10 a day and the box says don't take more then 4 a day. will the motility disorder ever get better or will it stay the same.

never had second opinion but I couldn't eat anything for 6 months with the size of my hital hernia. With the bravo test my acid exposure was really high, so they said I had no other options. I just had another dilation on September 28 it has helped a little bit. they keep telling me to eat smaller meals but I am barely eating anything. my surgeon said if you overeat it stretches the stomach and makes your throat tighten up causing food to stick and have more dilations needed. I am confused of what to eat or how much to eat. I keep losing weight and never feel good anymore. any advice would be helpful

If you decide to have a second opinion, go to my surgeon in Celebration, Florida who does a takedown of the Nissen wrap and does a robotic assisted gastroesophageal valvuloplasty. Essentially Dr. Gee puts your anatomy the way it should be. He takes the esophagus and puts it back into your stomach. At the same time,he creates a valve between your esophagus and stomach which opens and closes when you eat. He then closes the hiatal hernia with a Vicryl mesh, which is absorbed into the body. Any sutures that he uses are also absorbed also. I saw an individual with the take-down and she had an incision in her back. She was very happy with her status because she couldn't swallow after her Nissen wrap. My incisions are 6 small incisions, but I haven't had surgery previously. I am on a FB site called Nissen procedure takedown. Lots of people have very bad complications with this procedure. I and many others have had no side effects and we can eat what what we want. I feel better than I have in years. Dr Gee has been in Florida for a year and has done over 500 procedures. He is currently writing a paper on his experience. This is not a new procedure because he has been doing it since 2000.

I've run across several people who have had the procedure and all are doing fine. We all had postoperative inflammation which eventually goes away. I feel great. I am one year postop. I still am on PPI's because I had lots of stress during my postoperative period, but lots of people are off medication. You can look up his procedure and outcome online. He is a published author. If you decide to have the surgery and If you are out of state, you leave after you get released from the hospital and come back for a follow up appointment.
