David,
You're welcome. My doctor told me it was OK to do the Pepto Bismol for a short period so I didn't do it beyond the first month. Also, the gastritis just might be asymptomatic. You are probably still recovering from the surgery which may be why you feel things here and there... So just time, eating right, not worrying (I know, easier said than done; but we've all been there..) and staying active physically are good things for good health overall. Walking is low impact, aids in healing and uplifts the mood too. This early into recovery you can't hit the gym. The other thing he told me to take if I needed it was Gas-X. Working out and engaging in mental or creative pursuits will also help keep attention away from always having to think about
recovery. I went back to playing the piano and singing and it seemed to really relax me and that weird knot like feeling where they tie the stomach to the diaphragm seemed to feel much better too. Working out was a heaven sent for me since I've always been athletic. So it was bliss to hit the gym (after the forced 3 month break post surgery which honestly, was sheer torture for me). My doc also said if I felt pain to take Advil. And I had good fluid intake to help with the healing process. Let me know if you need specifics.
