I had a double hernia surgery last March. Did very well healing and getting back to the gym. The last few months have had lots of nausea and gas. The only thing that really seems to help is drinking a diet soda. I have added ginger and it has helped some. I am very active and do an average of 13,000 to 18,000 steps per day. I am retired and do watch what I eat. does not matter what I eat or when. How long does this last after surgery? Tummy01

I think you need to see your dr.. You should not be experiencing nausea this far out from the surgery. After all, you have the one year mark not that far off.
Take care.

I still experience occasional bouts of nausea for no reason, three years post-surgery. I carry a prescript
ion of Zofran with me at all times. I agree with Susie, you should see your doctor.

I did, he was not concern. Offered something for nausea. told him no since the soda takes care of it. Also using now ginger crystals. Got them at Trader Joe's. They help a little.

I as well 2 years out. still battle bouts of nausea. they seem to come and go, when they want. never staying long, but still suck. seems this surgery, has for some, some unwanted, side effects.

My bouts of nausea also come on for no reason, but they have really become few and far between. I can tell you that it does get better with time.
