Was diagnosed with esophagitis, gastritis, bile reflux and duodenitis via endoscopy beginning of April.
Was put on 40mg 2x a day protonix, 5mg reglan at bedtime. Hasnt helped. Dr put me on carafate pills 3x a day, 4 days ago.
Still experiencing symptoms.
How long will this continue?! I have 5 little ones to care for and cannot eat without feeling a little burning, or nausea and feeling of something stuck in my throat.
It also hurts sometimes to swallow and feels like food is just sitting in my stomach not being digested very fast. sad
Anyone have similar problems?

I had my gallbladder removed in 2013 and still do experience pains in my right side where it used to be.

Hi , I can truly relate to your pain because I am also having issues. I had my gallbladder out in 2016 and I was doing really great accept for 4 weeks ago . I started with this terrible burning pain where my gallbladder was and radiating to the back. It starts up about 2 hours after I eat. I went to Dr. and I too was given protonix to take 2x per day. After a week she added carafate 3 x a day. They have sent me for a sonogram so I am waiting on results. I have suffered from gastritis and Gerd in the past but nothing like this. I am having trouble trying to figure out a good schedule for taking the protonix because I was taking it 30 min before eating breakfast and then after breakfast I would take my blood pressure medication but now trying to figure when to take the carafate has been challenging. Have you been able to work out a schedule that works for you ? I have read that it takes some time for healing so we have to have patience. Hang in there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as to times to take this carafate. Thank you.

I usually take it 1 hr before breakfast, lunch and dinner, the carafate, and my protonix i take before the carafate in the morning and evening.
