Greetings everyone. I believe that I may have a Hiatal Hernia, and I am terrified! I live in Colorado, am unemployed and have Kaiser as my medical provider. I have had acid reflux for years. But the last month or 2 have been really bad. My meds do not seem to be helping, I am in constant pain in my lower chest and upper abdomen. I snore alot, and it now hurts to eat and drink stuff. Especially drinking. Even water. My appetite has disappeared, I burp ALOT!! I will warn you all that I am over weight. I way 180lbs. and most of my weight is in my abdominal area. I also have other medical conditions. I have a pacemaker, epilepsy and IBS-D. Any advice would be great!! I went in to the walk in clinic last Monday, and they were more concerned about
my heart, so they did blood and urine tests and did a chest x-ray to look at my heart and pacemaker. My blood and urine tests came back clean. and my heart looked fine so they sent me home. I have a "follow up" with my GP on Monday at which point I am going to ask for an upper abdominal x-ray, hopefully it will show them what is wrong with my diaphragm/esophagus.I am terrified and phobic of needles, doctors and hospitals!
Any advice would be helpful.
