Ear pain

Hello all first time posting so forgive me if I get the etiquette wrong. I'm so worried because recently when the acid rushes in to my throat I get burning ear pain. This sounds crazy I know. I wonder if anyone out there has ever had this?

I've had recurring episodes of it in my right ear the last couple of months, i'd never think to link it with GERD until now, definitely an oddity. They might be related, not sure how, though.

After doing a couple days of research, it seems that the two are linked after all - It's more common in people with LPR, from what i'm seeing it's related to acid and pepsin aspirating into your nasal and sinus pathways, which also involves your eustachian tubes.

My pain seems to be directly related to the dryness the acidity causes to my ear, causing it to become irritated and inflamed. It's a sharp ache, I don't notice any fluid or infection, just redness. A very small drop of lotion on a Q-tip helps mitigate this, though I don't put the Q-tip far in, just around the outer rim. This along with a tablet of Acetaminophen in the morning to reduce the swelling relieves it fully for the day in my case.
