Crewsie:
Please don't harm yourself, there are a lot of things to try for relief and life is too short as it is. Of course anytime that you have stomach issues, a restrictive diet is usually necessary - and trust me, we all miss our favorite foods. Have you seen your PCP or a gastric doctor about your symptoms? Has he ever suggested going on PPIs? Have you recently had an endoscopy to look at your stomach and esophagus? Honestly, there's nothing wrong with roast turkey and mashed potatoes, a lot of people wish they could eat those two things. Also, please don't use Dr. Google to diagnose yourself, there's a lot of misinformation out there and it only causes more anxiety. BTW, anxiety can cause/make your symptoms seem worse. I'm almost 60 and had my surgery almost 5 years ago and it was a complete success.
Let us know what we can do to help you work through this.
