Hi Nancy... you said you had been referred the University of CO... do you live in the Denver/Metro area by any chance? I do, and that's why I'm asking. I've seen 3 different GI docs in 2 years and haven't found one yet that I like. The most recent one came recommended to me and I was so hopeful, but she turned out to be the worst doctor I've ever seen. I have been suffering from GERD for going on 2 years now... thanks to you and others, I've been PPI free for over a month now, but can't get through a day w/o Zantac 2X/day and a few slugs of Maalox. The GERD I can deal with... it's the chronic indigestion/belching that I've been suffering for nearly as long as the GERD that I can't. It hits me at least 3-4 times a day, and doesn't seem to matter what I eat/drink.
With regard to the pH test, 2 of my docs said there would be no point in my having that test because clearly I have too much acid, i.e., the reason for my GERD. Was it a GI doc that ordered the test on you? I'll be interested to hear of your results.
