Hi Hopes ( High Hopes..:),
Yes i did experience the pain , discomfort below the sternum after my endoscopy. I did not know what was happening and went to 3 different doctors. All put me on some sort of medication but there was no improvement. One doctor even gave me a pain killer injection which was supposed to last for 8 hours.
I was not able to sleep well at nights because i would wake up feeling shortness of breath. Feels like pressure around the diaphram region. After every meals abt 1 1/2 hours later i could also feel some discomfort ( not sure if you are experiencing this).
Well, it took a month before the pain completly vanished. I could feel that every day there was a slight improvement.
The frustrating part is that the doctor who perfomed the endoscopy should at least mention these symptoms but he never did leaving me to guess what could be wrong with me.
You must also be experiencing sore throat??. That takes abt 4 days to subside.
So hang in there!!! It is just the after effects of the endoscopy. All that pushing of the tubes into virgin territory is what causing all these discomfort. Nothing to worry about
!!!...
