Anyone here have Barretts???

Just wondering if anyone here has Barretts,I was just diagnosed they didnt see it on the Egd,but the biopsy showed that I have it.So just looking for some help,pretty scared here..

Hi, Talk to your doctor. Barretts cannot be cured but the symptoms can be controlled. You can live for many years maybe even a life time without any serious problems.....good luck Dave

hi just been looking through a previous posts and found this post i have just been diagnosed with barretts i,m 34 and been on meds for 2 years there must be more people on here with barratts ???

Just curious how could they not see it. I thought they could usually see it during the scope. What are your symptoms do you have GERD.

Hi I dont have Barretts, but think it must be pretty close as when I had Endoscpoe it was all pink & the doc did suggest barretts, he took biopsies that showed no barretts just change in Reflux. I must admit I am pretty worried as I cant seem to get this under control with the acid. I will need to look into further options am going to see GI next month I have been reading the nissen wrap post. I will most certainly consider it if medication dont work.

hi itsa not that noticable its when they take a biopsy and they look under the micro scope they can tell. mt endo said small areas possible areas of barratts which turned out to be barretts. i,m going to have the lapro op then see about getting this treatment they doing for barretts.

I had heard on alot of other sites that it is usually noitceable and the doctor can usually tell.

When they do the endo and the esophagus is irritated can the docotr usually see this
