Hi fktk,
I haven't ever posted on the Gerd forum...have it and Crohn's. I had pancreatitis the end of April and was hospitalized for six days. I don't know that I almost died, but I was pretty sick. Off work for another two weeks after I got home. All they could do is give me ice chips, an IV to hydrate and I had a Demerol drip for the pain. Anything by mouth would have made things worse so not even any meds by mouth. My lipase was 1194 and amylase was 456...went in for an endoscopy and mentioned I hadn't felt well for at least 5 days. He drew blood and when we went into the room to get the results of the endoscopy the Dr. said we are going to put you in the hospital...was surprised to say the least. It was probably the medication I was on for the Crohn's. I am currently in remission so opted to wait on decision about meds...it will be an anxious decision. I hope this answered some question...hope you don't get as bad ever...nasty....
