I have had Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR) my whole life. When I was real little my mom would give me baking soda mixed with water. When I got a bit older I would tkae swigs of mylanta all day long, I even took it to school with me. As a teenager my doctor had an upper GI done which only revealed I did not have an ulcer and I was put on zantac. Now I am 30 and on prilosec twice a day. I have asthma, and a swollen esophagus from multiple food allergies. A few months ago I had a endoscopy done which reveal I have slightly increased eos in my esophagus (from allergies), gastritis, hiatal hernia, celiac antibodies. I also had a laryngo scope from my ENT which revealed extensive damage to my throat and airways.
So now I have been ona special low allergen diet and taking prilosec twice a day.
Does anyone else with reflux suffer from multiple food allergies? I'm not sure if they are adult onset, or if they are the reason I have had chronic hives and stomach problems my whole life and I was just never diagnosed.
I guess misery loves company, and I would like to find others who are as miserable as I am. :)
