(i posted this is asthma/allergy forum as well,i didnt know this forum was for acid reflux, but oh well:) )
Hi all, hope you all are doing well,
I have had asthma for about 3 years now, and althoe it is not that bad, sometimes it really keeps me up at night, and my inhailor doesnt work. Last night was different thoe, i rarely get this bad, and it wasnt the same as an asthma attack,
it started at about 3am (when i first went to bed). I felt my asthma bothering me, like i couldnt breath in all the way, and so i took my inhailor, and it felt better, so i layed back down again, and
in a few minuites it came back again, but different, like a almost choaking feeling. like there was something in my throat, like mucus or flem or something, but different than usual. And the really weird part, is when i sat up straight, it went away completely, but when i layed back down, it came right back. This lasted about 4 hours, and i tryed sleeping in every position possible. I was sooo tired thoe, that i would occasionally pass out for a minuite or 2, and then it would wake me up again, and as i said, this continued for 4 hours, until i eventually pased out, and woke up 5 hours later, when my alarm went off for me to get up, because i had a blood test to get. I called me asthma specailist today, becasue it was so weird, i wanted to know what that was, and she asked if i had soar throats at all, and i have had some, the last about 1 day, or half a day, maybe 1 day a week or so. And she suggested it might be acid reflux, which as well would be a trigger to my asthma from it being stressful and constricting my breathing slightly. Which would explain why i couldnt breath in as deeply as usual during this time. (and just so you know, i also have Gallstones, and im currently waiting to get my galbladder taken out, so could that cause acid reflux or something like that?) as well, i think i should mention i am have gotten a few very serious attacks, where i get VERY SEVERE pain in my chest, in the middle, for about 45 minuites that i need to be hospitalised for, and they give me pain killers, morphine by iv, and it doesnt evan help the pain until it just goes away. my doctors think it is a rare problem with my gallstones getting logged in the common bile duct, but it could be this? as well, the only way i can be anywhere near comfortable is wheni lay down, that makes it liveable, but doesnt really change much, just eases the pressure a bit, but keep in mind the pain was so bad, that i went into shock last time i had an attack, and ive only had 3.
So my question is, does anyone elce think this might be acid/reflux? For people who have it, what is it like? and how is it diagnosed and treated????
and help would be really appreciated, i have 2 other VERY important doctor appointments soon, and i need my sleep.
thanks in advance all
