Could someone please tell me if there is any pain from gerd & where you feel it. I have been DX'ed with gerd for years. the first time I was on protonix for 6 mo & it all went away until 6 yrs. later. Now I am hurting in my diaphram & under my left ribcage down lower. I was also DX'ed with ibs. I just can't figure out what the pain & burning is from.

It is what I would call chest pain. You could call it heartburn, I guess, but it is so bad for me that I have to take my FMS pain meds to stop the pain.

I'm on Nexium since 4/14, but will be going on Protonix as my insurance won't cover Nexium anymore as of 9/1/06. I was just getting used to the side effects now I have to go to another med.

Prior to that I would get a dry cough at night for years and was told it was allergies.
